The various faculties of the university are showcased in the Workshops of the Liszt Academy series. On this occasion the Church Music Department performs music for the winter festive season, Advent, Christmas and Epiphany. Studies in church music were relaunched at the Liszt Academy in 1990, since when the department has become an independent arts and sciences workshop within the university. The programme is ecumenical: there is both Catholic and Protestant church music, as well as vocal and purely instrumental pieces. One can reckon on a true historical parade: Gregorian chant, early vocal polyphony, Franco-Flemish choral movements, Protestant choral arrangements, and works written for organ. Naturally, the concert includes not only international but also Hungarian church music in the form of two works by the 18th-century Hungarian composer Benedek Istvánffy. The performance reveals the talents of teachers of the Church Music Department as well as current and former students.

A program kb. 50 perces programon bemutatjuk a Zeneakadémia épületének különleges díszítéseit, rejtett kincseit, megismerkedhetnek a legendás a Nagyterem történetével és a Solti terem szépségével, láthatják a magyar szecesszió kiemelkedő alkotását az előcsarnokban. Az épületlátogatás után lehetőségük nyílik meghallgatni a Zeneakadémia növendékei által adott minkoncertet is. Diákok és nyugdíjasok számára 50% kedvezményt biztosítunk. A maszk viselése ajánlott a belépéskor és a túra alatt.
