The Esszencia Production is the meeting of experienced, mature musicians. The purpose of their joint music-making is to experience the unity through which they create an inner harmony unique to them alone. Esszencia cannot be compared with other ensembles playing traditional folk music. Jazz, classical and folk music, elderly and youthful, old and new, male and female, happy and sad, traditional and progressive all exist together and alongside each other in a most natural way. By embracing the openness required for this, they are capable of performing an honest and characteristically Hungarian ‘Essence’ of the sounds of the world coming from within them. In this concert they reach back to their roots and while retaining their characteristic music they turn the spotlight on folk music melodies.

A Zeneakadémia hallgatóiból alakult trió minden ízében romantikus repertoárt tűzött műsorára. A koncert első felében két olyan alkotást hallhat a közönség, amelyet szerzőjük harmincesztendős korában írt. Schubert halála előtt egy évvel komponálta az Esz-dúr notturnót, mely feltehetően eredetileg a B-dúr zongoratrió lassú tétele volt, de abban a szerző a kiadó kérésére a ma ismert lassú tételre cserélte.
Az angol zene a 17. században a politikai és társadalmi viszonyokhoz hasonló volumenű változáson ment keresztül. Az utolsó évtizedekre érett be a helyi hagyományok, illetve az országba bejutott francia és olasz zene fúziója, amely egy sajátos, sokszínű és gazdag angol barokk stílus létrejöttét eredményezte. Ennek a zenei áramlatnak a legfőbb képviselői John Blow, illetve a tragikusan rövid életű tanítványa, Henry Purcell voltak.
